Chapter 1

I was lying in bed looking at my laptop when my eyebrows frowned.

“…What is this?”

Someone in the game has been messaging the same thing over and over again in the chatting window for a couple hours already.

[All][God Dog]: LF a player who wants to run a 2nd life.

I grabbed my mouse and scrolled up and down on the chatting window to see all the messages that ‘God Dog’ has left.

“This concept is so cliché.”

He must have nothing to do since he’s been repeating the same message since dawn.

“A 2nd life?”

I laughed out loud while lying down.

How is a 2nd life possible when life isn’t a game?

If such a thing existed, how happy would I be?

From the time when I was born, I led a life without anything.

I didn’t even have a father and a mother that everyone else had.

I was raised in an orphanage and worked at the factory since I became an adult.

Now that I’m almost thirty?

I have been working part time at a convenience store while living at Goshiwon1; all the money I have saved up has been slowly decreasing while preparing for the civil service examination.

The only things I own are my laptop and max level characters in this game that’s been installed on my laptop.

“I lead such a minimal life.”

Though rather than minimal, my life seemed more like a dried up and twisted radish.

Maybe that’s why my eyes keep going over to these kind of cliché spams.

“Yes, I should always upvote these spam.”

I put my hands on the keyboard while laughing.

[All][JjamBbong Taste Clementine]: 2nd life, let’s go go go go

Surprisingly, ‘God Dog’ sent me a whisper right away as if he were waiting for it.

[Whisper][God Dog]: Are you confident? It’s not going to be easy, you know?

Why is this guy so serious? That’s no fun?

I debated on ignoring him but decided to give him one more chance.

“Interest and warmth makes our society warm, right?”

*Typing noise*.

[Whisper][[JjamBbong Taste Clementine]: Don’t I just have to do the same thing over again in this shitty game? Hehehehe

[Whisper[JjamBbong Taste Clementine]: It seems like you also have hard;; let’s work hard together!!!

Then, a strange reply arrived.

[Whisper][God Dog]: I like your attitude. I hope that you survive this time and do the things you would like to do.

“…survive this time?”

What is this nonsense?

Did someone die or something?

I scratched my chin and tried to send a message again.

I was about to type go to the dog cafe if you’re going to keep speaking bullshit.

‘Thinking about it, this is upsetting? A 2nd life, is he making fun of me?’

That’s what I thought.

I was about to hit enter.

But suddenly I felt really sleepy.

My eyes were closing like someone was sweeping down gently on my face.

I couldn’t even forcefully resist.

‘Am I tired from my part time job earlier? I guess I’ll get some sleep.’

I closed my eyes.

I had no idea about what’s going to happen when I woke back up.

I fell deeply into a reason-less sleep.

When I opened my eyes, my whole world was moving up and down.

Did I drink too much?

The inside of my head was ringing like a bell.

But what is this place? Am I inside a taxi?

Isn’t this too narrow for a back seat?

I lied down on my side and moved my body to touch around me.

However, I couldn’t feel the familiar texture of the leather seat.

Instead, oddly enough…

‘What is this?’

I could feel the texture of the rough bark of a tree on my cheek.

I could grab a rolling lump of dirt in my hand and feel some kind of sticky liquid on my forehead.

This is the backseat of the taxi?

There’s no way.

If this was a car seat, then those junk carts and carts from a discount store should all have a license plate.

My whole body felt paralyzed because it was randomly crumpled on the hard floor.

Rattle, rattle, rattle.

Even while I was thinking, the floor was transporting me to an unknown place like a broken truck.

I couldn’t see even a hint of light.

What happened?

Come on, stay calm.
